In general, most residence permits are granted for a period of one year and can be renewed, it may also be granted for a period of two years in few cases. Some provinces grant residence permit for a period of six months the first time then it is renewed for a year the second time.

The documents required to obtain a residence permit are:
- Residence application form signed by the applicant.
- For minor children, you must submit a copy of the family book or a family record translated by a sworn translator into Turkish and ratified by the notary, and the parents or guardians will sign the request on behalf of the child.

- The original passport.
